Uniquely Refined Designs: About Katie

My name is Katie and I have the privilege of being a stay at home mom to three amazing little monsters. I have been married to my partner is crime, Jason, for almost eight years. We live wherever the Air Force takes us, and it seems to be some place new every couple years. Personally, I love it!

I've always loved art. For years I have been told that I need to settle and pick one style of art to work with. Not possible. Absolutely not. After years and years of trying to decide, I finally came to the realization, that it's just not possible. I am a graphic design fanatic, collector of figurines, sucker for paintings, and a hoarder when it comes to furniture (specifically dressers, little tables, and desks - we will get to that later).

I started blogging back in January 2011. I promised I would do a post a day. Yea. Ridiculousness. It became way too overwhelming. I have had several people ask if I was going to start a new one. Well, here it is!

I'm always working on something. Always. The work that I do is sporadic though, in terms of what I am working on. I will go from designing a logo, to staying up all night to refinish a dresser. I can't tell you how much I wish my little obsession was small, and could fit into a drawer. Rather than having hundreds of drawers in my house and garage!!!

Essentially, I love to find beauty where others don't see it at all.

I wish I was given a medal for trash picking. If only people knew what they were throwing out. Sometimes it's crazy to me. I, in turn have raised little trash pickers. My little ladies love to go furniture hunting with me. I think it instills some awesome values in them. Mini-semi-hippies. :)
